Jerry A. Hulstein, CPAManaging Principal - Audit and Tax Jerry is a partner at Olson, Clough & LeBlanc, Ltd., and has over 26 years of experience helping family owned businesses succeed. He enjoys getting to know his clients, their ambitions, values and goals. This knowledge helps him advise and consult with clients daily in their tax, accounting, financial and estate decisions. In addition, he has consulted with many clients in their growth through expansion, buying and selling businesses. Jerry grew up helping out on the family owned farm in southwest Minnesota. This taught him the importance of a strong work ethic and teamwork. He graduated from Dordt College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting in 1985. After graduation he began his career in public accounting and became a CPA in 1987. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and AICPA Tax Section. Jerry lives in Eden Prairie with his wife, Lori, and two daughters, Emily and Ali. He is active in the leadership at the church he and his family attend. He enjoys watching his daughters play soccer, riding his motorcycle, golfing, skiing and hunting. Gregory P. LeBlanc, CPAPrincipal - Banking and Tax Greg was born and raised in the Minneapolis area. He attended DeLaSalle High School, and the University of St. Thomas, where in 1975 he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting. After a year as an accountant in private industry, he joined Olson, Clough & LeBlanc, Ltd. as a staff accountant. Greg was admitted as a partner in 1984 and acted as managing partner from 1994 through 2006. In 1998, Greg received a degree from the Graduate School of Banking at Boulder, and currently heads the firms Banking Division. Greg has served as President of the National Association of Accountants Northstar Chapter, the Brooklyn Park Youth Hockey Association, and the Northstar Youth Baseball League. He is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Minnesota Society of CPA’s. He has been married to his wife Susan for 37+ years, has three sons and two grandaughters. Joseph C. Speltz, CPAPrincipal - Tax Joe is a Certified Public Accountant and has practiced public accounting with Olson, Clough & LeBlanc, Ltd., for over twenty five years. He enjoys using his years of experience and entrepreneur spirit giving advice and guidance to small and medium closely held business. Joe is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Minnesota Society of CPA’s. Joe graduated from the St. John’s University in 1982. He is a faithful St. John’s alumni. Joe has also attended courses at the University of Minnesota Master of Business taxation program. While not at work, Joe enjoys time with his wife and two children, relaxing at the cabin and cheering on St. John’s and Notre Dame football. Joe is committed to his church and his children’s schools. Jeffrey R. Anderson, CPAManager Jeff began his career in accounting in 1982, partnering with his father Robert Anderson, LPA, in providing compliance services and financial advice to community banks. In 1985 the family business was sold to Olson, Clough & LeBlanc, Ltd., where the level of service he provides clients has expanded to include assisting closely-held businesses, individuals, estates and trusts in the areas of tax compliance, consulting, planning and audit. With a commitment to client satisfaction and personal attention, his guidance and dedication enables our clients to achieve their desired success. Jeff is the fourth generation in his family to be of service to small businesses and the financial services industry. He is a 1982 graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. Jeff’s interests outside of the firm include golfing, fishing, boating and biking.
Michael P. Amberson, CPAManager Michael was born and raised in the Minneapolis area, attending Richfield High School. He graduated from Iowa State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Michael joined Olson, Clough & LeBlanc, Ltd. in 2005. Since then, he has been involved in the firms banking practice, performing agreed upon procedures examinations, bank secrecy act and internal control testing. Michael currently manages all of the firm's internal control and BSA testing engagements. Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. Michael enjoys reading, playing hockey, and competing in triathlons. Darren J. McAdams, CPAManager Darren McAdams is a certified public accountant at Olson, Clough & LeBlanc, Ltd. Darren works with business owners on tax and accounting matters, including new business planning, accounting system selection and implementation, tax preparation, tax reduction strategies, and general financial guidance and oversight. Darren believes in building long-term business relationships with his clients, which enables him to give personalized and practical advice on growing their business and improving their bottom line. Darren grew up working for his father in their family owned business. Here, he developed a passion in working with business owners. Darren is licensed to practice in the State of Minnesota and to represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. Carla M. HouleSenior Accountant Carla Houle has been with Olson, Clough & LeBlanc, Ltd., for over 18 years. In this time she has built many invaluable long term relationships with our small business clients. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Metropolitan State University. Carla specializes in helping small businesses get started in Quickbooks, Peachtree or other accounting software. Carla believes that one of the most important aspects of starting a business is getting the accounting system off on the right track. Kris L. RothAccountant Kris came to Olson, Clough and LeBlanc in 2010 and has over 20 years of accounting experience in both the public and private sectors. Kris specializes in multi-state tax issues, research and tax planning but also provides a wide-range of services including corporate, partnerships, individual, trust and estate, and non-profit accounting and taxation. Jenny S. BiornAccountant Jenny has been with the firm since October 2010. She graduated from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in October, 2000, with a degree in Business. Her career in public accounting began in 2006. Jenny is experienced in federal income tax preparation, payroll tax preparation, and bookkeeping services including Peachtree and QuickBooks accounting software. Missy A. VarneyOffice ManagerMissy joined the firm in October, 2008. She is currently going to school to obtain her accounting degree. She is proficient in QuickBooks. Besides keeping our office organized and running efficiently, she offers bookkeeping services to our clients. Missy assembles individual and business tax returns. She is also responsible for transmitting all electronically filed returns. Missy helps prepare and assemble financial statements for our business clients. Kristen A. ElmoreAdministrative AssistantKristen joined Olson Clough & LeBlanc in 2010. She is the administrative assistant and is responsible for processing individual and business returns, as well as providing clerical and organization support. Kristen has extensive administrative experience after spending over 16 years in the computer leasing industry. Kristen is a wife, mother of 3 children, Booster Club president, volunteer and active member of her community. Richard G. Clough, CPAPrincipal Emeritus Dick has been with Olson, Clough and LeBlanc for over 50 years. He has extensive experience in tax, auditing, valuations, succession planning, litigation support and expert witness testimony. He is a life member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Dick graduated from Minneapolis Roosevelt, studied accounting through International Accountants Society and earned an AAS degree in accounting technology with high honors from Normandale Community College. He received his Minnesota CPA certificate in 1966 and subsequently held CPA certificates in Wisconsin and Georgia. Dick was born in Minneapolis, and now lives in Bloomington with his wife Shirley of over 50 years. They have two children and five grandchildren. He enjoys golfing, fishing, and hunting.
